Mark is currently an Analyst at Barclays Wealth Management working in the Chief Investment Office where he supports key strategic initiatives such as coordinating the end-to-end implementation of the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) refresh across Barclays’s investment products/propositions and operationalising of the new FX Systematic Model developed by the Asset Allocation team. He is currently a CAIA charterholder and is working towards completing the CFA and FRM charters. Before joining Barclays, Mark gained internship experiences in hedge fund, venture capital fund and wealthtech startups. Mark also ventured into entrepreneurship when he founded ExplorR in 2018, a mobile app that aims to recreate the exploration experience through location-based gamification, which was supported by King’s20 Accelerator Program.
A former VP of the King’s Business Club, Jameel graduated from KCL in 2014 prior to pursuing an MSc in Finance at Cass Business School. His career in financial services has so far been at Barclays and has encompassed Treasury, Corporate Development M&A, and Equity Research (large and smid cap European Pharmaceutical companies). Jameel is a CFA®️ charterholder.
Dr. Alexander Kern
He holds a Ph.D. in Corporate Finance & Innovation Management Science from Aix-Marseille University. After spending a year at Harvard University, and the National Bureau of Economic Research in the United States, he successfully moved to the corporate side. Throughout his career, he has been involved in different businesses in high-performance environments such as consulting, finance, international politics, and digital start-ups.
He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse a German Bank and ran for state parliament in Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. Currently, he is the Managing Partner at AKX Capital and the Euro-Institute, advisory firms setting up international VC and PE funds. Further, he is a Professor for Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital at EDHEC in Nice, France, and the International University of Monaco.
